Session notes
Section titled “Session notes”We have docked in the port, the two people we dragged are asking to be let go and we’re trying to gauge their mood. Oona is offering to let them go. Kahu has marked them with the mark of the fire and they should keep an eye for the signs.
If we want good Clam Chowder, we need to go to Fisherman’s grotto. We’re heading there. Chowder prices have tripled due to increased demand. While waiting for the chowder, Oona recognizes a shipmate. He is celebrating the capture of the celestial ironclad. He tells us that most ships are laying to while the harbor becomes available.
Added lore to the Clam Chowder business:
- Jackdoe is a Clam Chowder regular
- Jackdoe somethings leaves messages with the Clam Chowder merchant
- The Clam Chowder merchant has been improving his product with lemon truffle
Pachinko receives a note under the bread bowl. It’s written hastily:
“Oona, we had to leave hastily from the harbor, we’ll try to be on the east side and you’ll be able to see our mast if you go to this address in the town. People have been coming around asking about us.”
People have been noticing us as there’s a fire frog in Kahu’s pants. We can take the cutter to where the Jackdoe boat should be more or less. As we depart the harbor, we’re shouted to get out of the way. We see the Albian navy pulling up to the dock. We dodge all the commotion and sail east to find Jackdoe.
The sailing is not straightforward and both Ryuto and Oona are discussing how to best get there. Pachinko and Kahu decide to support Oona’s navigation. We finally manage to hail the Lively Lady and approach it.
Pachinko brings an old Clam Chowder to Captain Jackdoe. He is surprised we came back so early. All the boggarts are amazed at the frog fire statue. The prisoner has been asking about Kahu and wants to see him.
The Mink is amazed we got the relic so quickly. We didn’t harm anyone in the process. Kahu is looking for more followers for his endeavor. He is trying to enlist the Mink as a spreader.
The Moe used to talk about the fire that would wash over the world. He didn’t believe it would be true in the face of all the powerful forces of the world. The Mink knows people looking for something to believe. Kahu makes a gesture to release him from the brig and welcomes him and offers him.
Kahu tries to commune overnight and then he is surrounded by Boggarts. Kahu is feeling the power of the idol and is getting a vision of what would come to pass if his followers go on holy war and burn and wage war on the whole continent. There’s an image of a rotund man, a Santa Claus on fire. The vision shifts to the center of the capital where in the market square, in execution square, there’s an empty circle and there’s only a pyre in the middle. A fire person in there looks out to Kahu, but it’s a flame with no discernible face.
The dreams of everyone are wrapped in flame.
We send the Mink off so he can spread the good word. We’re preparing to take over the ironclad.
We’re trying to figure out where all the foreign powers are at. They are probably at the red cathedral.
The boggarts have their own plan as well, they want us to go and liberate their kin because Kahu is now their god.
Plan:
- Come up with motto
- Prepare the pamphlets
- Steal the ironclad
