Section titled “Session notes”It’s time to escape, the initiatives are:
The Shaman of the Boggarts starts fighting and goes into a trance and croaking a gutural song. All the other Boggart guards join in the chanting. He conjures two orbs in front of him, floating in the air, hovering menacingly.
As Oona approaches the shamans, she is pulled between the orbs of gravity towards the black one but repelled by the white one. She manages to keep her balance and get to her destination. Ronghi tries and fails to shoot arrows at the boggarts but they get deflected by the gravitational fields of the orbs. Jimminy tries to turn off the fire but just makes it grow in one direction.
As we approach the fight, we are frightened by the communal croaking of the Boggarts.
Meanwhile in the camp, Punx has woken up and is alarmed by the plan and wants to go help his companions and asks to be taken to the Boggart encampment. He is found by the smart sneaky orphan who knows exactly where to take Punx. The orphan’s name is Ziggy. Punx is able to sneak through into the camp.
Meanwhile the shaman moves the hole and makes Oona go into the children’s room with two guards. The children are looking rough and Mirobel is looking like she is being entranced by the chanting.
Punx tries to get on top of one of the huts to quickly reach the battle.
Oona holds Mirobel and swaps her life force with her and retargets the curse to her. It’s a very heroic moment that leaves Oona with an affinity to the hole.
Miros has come back after having burned the west part of the village and is coming to help looking battered. Meanwhile the shaman keeps using his hole to gobble up opponents but he forgets about Punx who is ready to surprise him from behind.
Punx is lifted onto the air by one of the holes and dropped hard onto the ground but he has feather fall which prevents the damage.
Punx has entered the other room where the shaman is hiding and finds a mysterious pool of tadpoles. What to do with it??? It’s a mystery.
Punx has killed the shaman and the chanting stops its power. The rest of the boggarts are easily killed and once 3 of them are down, the others plead for us to spare their spawning pool.
Ryuto is negotiating the final deal and trying to recover some of the tools as we exit the camp with the kids.
We exit the camp peacefully with the kids. Ryuto makes some tea to celebrate, he rolls an 18, the best tea he has ever made. Punx finally praises Ryuto’s tea.
A Sonnet for the Day of Peril and Triumph
In shadows deep, the shaman cast his spell,
With orbs of dark and light, a fearsome sight.
Oona stood firm, defied the grip of hell,
Her courage blazed, a beacon in the night.
Ronghi’s arrows met the mystic shield,
Jimminy’s flame did swell with wayward gust.
The camp in chaos, yet we would not yield,
Our hearts united, strong with righteous trust.
Punx, swift as wind, did climb to join the fray,
His feather fall a blessing in descent.
With Ziggy’s guide, the path was clear to lay,
The shaman’s life extinguished, power spent.
With children freed, and peace our new decree,
Ryuto’s tea, a toast to victory.
