Day 2 — The secret in the caves

Session notes

30min have passed. We all jump down in the hole and follow the hole. We go through the caves. We follow the slime and poop trail. We sneak through the caves. We see some light coming from some egress. We hear some voices from down the hall. We hear a dialect from the Elephant islands, the less developed of the islands.

“Why aren’t they coming? We’ve been here for hours” We alert them and charge them as they have noticed us coming.

We see two shapes around the water. These are frog peoples from the elephant islands, they are boggarts. They wield clubs and are very dangerous.

We kill them and take their stuff but we don’t find anything but a diary book. One matching the ones from the chest. It talks about the last months of Molty’s life when he visited the Elephant islands which are full of barbarians. He found a grove in Elephant islands with the finest wood for shipmaking. The locals call it Kik or woodchuck wood.

We go back to the poop cellar and meet Makola. We report our findings faithfully. The Makola is wondering why there’s a missing page on the diary. Makola is not yet sure that he can justify this to the imperials. He leans on Ryuto to learn what they should do. Ryuto is going to meet the delegation from the Empire. They only communicate with the Salari tribes in the islands, not the Boggarts.

We receive 120g, so 30g for each. We can pursue the poison discovery.

Downtime activities:

• Una & Punx: Finding a herbalist for the poison check
  • There’s a herbalist druid, Akwafina, who identifies the toxin
  • A very dangerous and malefic poison, from the 7 step adder from the Elephant Isles. After you are poisoned you can take 7 steps before you die. There’s enough poison on the dagger to kill someone.
• Ryuto: Preparing diplomacy
• Pachinko: Sent to meet the fat cat and gets 50g in return, gives 20 to Ryuto to be split in 4. Pachinko gets 5g from the cut from 5g from Ryuto for the job.

After 2 days, a big steel ship approaches the islands and everyone is on high alert. Ryuto is sent to speak. Ryuto relays all the info including the hidden info about the wood which we didn’t know. He is disdained by the empire emissaries. They are glad that his loyalty is still with the empire. They will take the report back to the chamberlains. Ryuto gets a 400g or an uncommon <400g item.

Makoa comes to us the next day for the elephant isles.
