Session notes
Section titled “Session notes”We are being summoned for our crimes, for siding with other nations. We follow and arrive at the palace where we’re expected and ushered to the east side wing. Kahu is awed by the largeness of the buildings. He is lord Molas. The contessa says “Hi Gormie” to Lord Molas.
Lord Molas: “Has been wondering last 3 days, what could possibly have gone through your head to convince you this was a good idea. I’ve been waiting with such trepidation for an explanation”
A decision has been made by the contessa and the carolingian representative in our absence. Kahu introduces himself as he is unknown. But Molas does not consider him a citizen of the kingdom. Pachinko is marveled by the Carolingians and wants to bless this union. Oona is much more reasonable and is explaining that it was important to take a side and help out the other nations. Lord Molas is angry that we left Maliko on the Elephant Isles. We’re being disavowed by the Moa’Tor Kingdom government, this also includes captain Jackdoe and his ship and crew. Molas has a pre-dated letter of mark from Lady Selenia that certifies our operating as privateers of the Albian Islands.
Oona argues that we did what we had to do but this falls on Molas’ deaf ears. Contessa will be escorted back to the embassy on the isles. We should go visit Contessa’s dad, we’ll go for afternoon tea.
We see a big ceremony around the king and the saints coming in to greet the king. There’s three saints:
- Saint Theresa (bad vibes for Kahu), Saint of Epiphanies
- Saint Sebastian
- A saint dressing plainly, followed by acolytes with swords, the saint also has a sword at their back. Saint Catherine, the saint of the discalced sisters.
There will be daily sermons, Pachinko can go see St Sebastian for the next few days at the cathedral.
Let’s go find where Kahu’s fire is coming from and why is there a sense of doom when certain characters are nearby.
We can also investigate where the blood magic comes from by asking the Boggarts.
We can also check on Pachinko’s business venture.
The orphans are busy at work and they are making canisters at the cannery. They are making it into an Arsenal/Cannery.
The Boggarts are not interested in joining the factory but some of the sailors are interested as the crew is now disillusioned about not working for the company.
Now we’re going to check on the lemon truffle. We have 600g from the lemon truffle business and we go check the Amarati deckbuild. Punx is currently in a training exercise at Sea. We don’t know when he will be back. Punx leaves a letter behind: saying that Oona is the best and be on the lookout for Pachinko. We leave 400g to be donated for the Sailing bonds for the town.
We take a Rickshaw to the Contessa’s estate and we go to the boonies. We pass miles upon miles of vegetable fields. It’s a very fancy estate. It’s all very fancy and imported.
We’re having the fanciest tea that money can buy. We’re at the party and this is a regular gathering where we’re the guests of honor. They want us to regale them with our adventures. The contessa takes us to see her father.
Contessa introduces us to the Dad, whose name is prince Pako of Pah’aku. The Fetuhaka dynasty is a young one so there’s not many traditions on how to inherit, in the old ways, the title would have passed to Pako but Gormie Molas insisted on a primogeniture transition of power.
Pako thinks we should be rewarded and if he were in charge, things would be handled very differently. He doesn’t agree with the heads in sand philosophy.
He knows we’re free agents and he is interested in giving us a job. There’s a holy relic from the preserves of old Moa but a fortnight ago, the ship had been assailed by pirates in the region. If we recover this relic, it would be a big help to the cause.
The king probably has us in big regard but Gormie is the problem. 500g would be the reward. We have discretion in handling the pirates.
Pako is alright.
